We find ourselves in troubled times. What’s unfolding right now in the Middle East is deeply sad and disturbing.
Working with a mudra for world peace might seem naive and insignificant, especially while people are suffering the loss of loved ones, running out of drinking water and wondering what the next day will bring. But bear with me here.
I wonder for a moment … if those perpetuating war stopped for a second, took a deep breath and found themselves, their hearts, their minds bathed in the loving embrace of complete peace. Would their perspective shift, even just a little?
I’m sure it would take much much more than a deep, conscious breath to effect real change, but it feels hopeful to think of a different world, one where we are all connected by a feeling of deep peace, safety and love. I’m certain the ripples of this energy would make a change. This is why I keep faith in practising the inner work.
I wonder for a moment … if those perpetuating war stopped for a second, took a deep breath and found themselves, their hearts, their minds bathed in the loving embrace of complete peace. Would their perspective shift, even just a little?
So here’s what I’m doing: I’m donating to charities that are on the ground helping and I’m cultivating as much inner peace as I can right now in the hope it might also flow into the hearts of those that need to feel it. I ask that you also give it a go. Because when we tap into this pure energy, everything falls away, our worries, our fears and our concerns. All that remains is hope and love and a feeling of great possibility.
The special mudra I’m working with today is ‘Hakini Mudra’. In my mudra oracle deck, I’ve titled it: ‘Earth Star Wisdom’. But it’s so much more than that!
How Hakini Mudra can Help in Troubled Times
The Mudra of the Mind
Hakini works on stilling the mind and bringing the energy of heart and mind together in harmony, instilling a sense of peace within. It also awakens the third-eye chakra, and visions or messages often come when using this mudra.
I LOVE HAKINI MUDRA! It’s so simple to practice.
How to Practice Hakini Mudra
- Bring all fingers of the hands to touch each other forming a pyramid shape
- Place the mudra in front of either your heart or third eye chakra
- Hold it in place for 5 minutes, ideally during a meditation
The key is – don’t expect anything, and from this place magic happens
